“ It seems I may have had a bit of a mixed experience at this restaurant. As a huge fan of homemade tamales, I was really looking forward to trying the Tamale Bowl. However, it didn't quite match my expectations. I had envisioned something similar to a Chipotle-style bowl, but instead received a dish that felt more like a fresh, health-inspired bowl filled with an abundance of veggies. On the positive side, my sisters Chili Relleno looked absolutely delicious and definitely caught my eye! In hindsight, I might have been better off choosing that or sticking with the classic tamales. Overall, while I didn't find what I was hoping for, I can appreciate the emphasis on fresh ingredients. I may give this place another shot to explore more of the menu! ”
“ Wonderful food. Always clean inside. Always nice employees:) I love there cheese enchiladas. So delicious ”
“ Nice place. Easy to find and outdoor seating is available. Parking is a little hard but if you're patient it's ok. The food is ordered at the counter when you walk in. Nice selection of breakfast and tamales. I ordered cafe de olla and a breakfast burrito with pancakes. Coffee was good. We are upstairs on the terrace. It wasn't too cold eventhough it was cloudy. It took a little while to get our food but it was ok. The service was overall okay and the price is average. ”
“ If you are like me, a hungry Tamale hunter, you must have tried Tamales from multiple establishments. I have too. In this search for culinary satisfaction, Magaly's Tamales and Mexican Grill, in San Fernando, is clearly one of my undisputed favorites. Many times I think, it is the favorite. And I have been coming here for years. Albeit, not as regularly as I should. It is that traffic to get there that sometimes gets to me, so I cancel the plan :( When I do get here, depending on who I am entertaining, I order by the dozen. My number one choice is their ground beef tamale that is prepared with salsa rojo. This is a rarity, I might add (worthy to note that most, if not all other eateries. only carry shredded beef tamales). Then there is the chicken that is infused with salsa verde. Another popular selection is the queso and jalapeño. And there are more varieties on the menu. Magaly's tamales are freshly assembled, and steamed in corn husks. I repeat this steaming process at home, before it is time to serve and dive in to these delicacies. Both the salsas (rojo and verde) that come on the side are good. But I always lean over towards the salsa rojo and pay for extras. Service, like the tamales, is consistent, of high quality and with good taste. ”
“ Came here with the intention of getting Mexican breakfast, and it was delicious! The environment is so cozy and homey but still spacious with tables, and it's a quick service where you order at the register but they bring the food to your table afterwards. I got the chilaquiles and the portion was huge! I chose spicy and it definitely started creeping up on me. My boyfriend got the Nutella strawberry pancakes and we also shared a pork red tamale. Definitely a large tamale and the masa wasn't dry at all, one of the better restaurant ones I've had. Would definitely return! ”
